Digital DJ: Hugtus
Overview
At Honky Tonk 2025, I had a digital character perform a live DJ set using a motion-capture suit for the first time. To achieve this, a performer from my network controlled our band's cactus character in real time. The movements were transferred directly onto the avatar and projected onto three large screens. The performance served as a first practical experiment to merge motion capture and Unreal Engine in a live setting. The goal was to gain experience in the interplay of technology, performance, and audience, and to explore the potential of these technologies in the context of concerts and live events.
